Vampires a Phase?

My daughter is into the latest popularity of Vampires. She has all the young adult fiction novels and owns all the movies once they come out on DVD. I called my friend asking if this was a normal phase to be fixated on one trend or should I be concerned about her. My friend laughed and stated her daughter is into the same type of stuff and it is a phase. She told me I was overreacting and that everything that is happening is normal. Then she reminded me of how we went through our punk rock stage so many decades ago. I laughed.
