When it comes to effective time management it is essential to know exactly how you are spending your time now. You may think you do know exactly how you spend your hours but if you take a closer look you will probably surprised at where your time actually goes. Keeping a time log is the best way to get an exact picture of how you really spend your time and is essential as far as time management techniques are concerned. All you need to do is take note of how your time is spent each day. This may sound tedious but it is well worth it and you don’t have to keep it up forever, a week or two is enough. When you do this for a couple of weeks an look back over how you spent your time you can clearly see which activities are worthwhile and which are a waste of your time.
