About testosterone replacement therapy
March 29th, 2008 by admin
Testosterone is a hormone produced by the testicles and is responsible for the proper development of male sexual characteristics. Testosterone replacement therapy can be administered either by intramuscular injection, by patches, or by gel, which is rubbed into any hairless part of the body. Testosterone is one hormone that is linked in studies to fat and muscle. Testosterone is important in maintaining bone strength in men. Testosterone is present in both males and females, but it is found in higher levels in the male body. Testosterone is many times not used by women because male secondary sex characteristics may start to appear in female users.
