Fun Family Picnick

Once a month we get together with 5 other families that we’ve known since our kids were tiny. By now each of us has quite a few more kids and we have a nice cowd going. We meet at a local park and bring a picnic. This month’s theme for the food was hot dogs. Of course we grilled some of them and served them in buns, but I was suprised at all the other creative hot dog recipes everyone was coming up with. We had hot dog salad, macaroni and cheese with hot dogs and even a dessert hot dog made with hot dog buns, bananas and peanut butter. Yummy!!!
The most impressive what the cucumber and hot dog sushi one of our friends made. I never would have thought to put hot dog in it, but it turned out really yummy. He even served it with pickled ginger and wasabi. What a treat for the grown ups.
