Where Can I Sell Gold Jewelry?

I have some gold jewelry that I really don’t like or wear. I inherited it from relatives so I have been hanging on to it, but I would rather have the money now since my finances are a bit tight. Can anyone tell me where I can go in order to sell gold jewelry? I want to get a decent amount for it. Should I go to one of those jewelry parties, or to a jewelry store, or is there some better way to do this? I also have some single earrings and broken necklaces that are sitting around collecting dust.
