Vacation Rental by the Beach

We live kind of in the middle of North Carolina and we like it because within a couple of hours drive one way or another we get either mountains or we get the beach. This year we would like to take a vacation near the beach since it has been a few years and I think that the kids are at an age where they will appreciate it a lot more then the mountains this time of year. We are looking for North Carolina vacation rentals that are near the water and the kids will be safe to play alone but within site of the house.
